A Cypfolia-fragranced dry stick deodorant - Athletic Deodorant is engineered to be fresh, its fragrance is light, evoking the sense of a walk in New Zealand bush. Coconut, Kaolin, Citrus, combine with Kawakawa and the natural benefits of Sodium Bicarbonate to calm perspiration and neutralise our body’s odour. So you can go ahead and run, jump and dive.

Sweat is one of the signs of a normal, healthy functioning system. Our ethos is to work with the body’s natural flow by working with it to limit excess moisture and control the aromas created through the excretion of sweat. However we also acknowledge that for some sweat is an unwanted evil that makes life less charming and frankly a little uncomfortable, which is why we have developed our brand new dry stick deodorant - ATHLETIC.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1/ Calms sweat and attacks odour, without
halting the bodies natural excretion or heating system. We do this by reducing the bacteria on our skin, but only the ones that create odour.

2/ Baking soda is alkaline, meaning it counteracts the bacteria-loving acids in sweat and acts as a natural balancing agent for armpit odour.

3/ Plant-informed formula combines:

  • Kaolin Clay – absorbs moisture without clogging pores
  • Sodium Bicarbonate – neutralises odour at the source
  • Carnauba Wax – keeps it smooth, firm and consistent
  • Kawakawa – calms and protects sensitive skin

4/ Fragranced with Cypfolia (Blue Cypress), ATHLETIC carries a
fresh, clean scent that evokes a walk through New Zealand bush — green, grounded, confident.

Carnauba Wax - Back in the day grandpa might have cleaned his tobacco pipe with it, maybe he used it to coat the hull of his boat enhancing the speed and handling through water, it is still used today in many brands of surf wax for much the same properties. In ATHLETIC smooth silky glide.

 Kaolin - Is soft white clay named after the hill in China (Kao-ling) where it was first mined. Used for centuries to make Chinese porcelain when kaolin is mixed with water it can be molded under pressure, the shape is retained after the pressure is removed making it a fantastic base products that need to maintain shape and form without being greasy or oily.

Bergamot oil - Extracted from the rinds of the Citrus bergamia plant. Common throughout the Mediterranean, the fruit is the size of an orange, yet similar in colour to a lime. Like other citrus fruits, bergamot has a distinctive fragrance that gives off a memorable top note that combines with natural compounds in the oil to deliver anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Kawakawa Extract - In Te Reo Māori (New Zealand’s indigenous language) refers to the bitter taste of the leaves, kawa meaning bitter. Also referred to as NZ Pepper Tree, Kawakawa is one of the most important plants in Rongoā (traditional Māori medicine), used externally for cuts, wounds and bruises and applied as a treatment for toothache, nettle stings and eczema due to its natural anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Baking Soda / Sodium Bicarbonate -Baking Soda is alkaline, meaning it counteracts the bacteria-loving acids in sweat and acts as a natural balancing agent for armpit odour. Our formula has been developed to be low pH, making it gentle on the skin, but strong enough to mask the effect of bacteria and the odour they create.
